21st Annual Holly Day Light Parade a Success!
The Almont Downtown Development Authority wishes to extend our sincere appreciation for all the businesses, organizations and individuals who helped to make our 21st Annual Holly Day Light Parade a success despite the cold & rainy evening.
With 30 Parade Participants, it was a magical evening had by all.

Jaime & Emelia Albers volunteered to be the photographers for the evening and a number of Almont High School student helped Mr. Jim Wade at the Historical Society with the Children’s Holiday Craft and letter writing to Santa.
The performance of the Almont Singers under the direction of Ms. Susie Royster and the Almont Marching Band under the direction of Mr. John Reinhard, put everyone downtown in the holiday spirit. The sound was courtesy of Universal Sound Productions.
The Almont Fire Department is to be commended for a job well done, bringing Santa to downtown for the lighting of the Christmas tree.
A special “Thank You” to all the participants in the parade – the floats were spectacular! We hope you make plans to join us again next year and that you continue to enjoy and support our local businesses.

Looking for Volunteers for the Holly Day Light Parade
The Almont DDA is looking for volunteers to help with their Annul Holly Day Light Parade. What a great way to enjoy the Holiday Season and to meet your local business owners, residents and community organizations. We are looking for help in the following areas:
- Historical Society - helping children write letters to Santa and to also help them make a Christmas Craft
- Local Student that is studying photography and that would be willing to take photographs for our DDA Website and Facebook page.
- Parade Line up Registration
- Set-up & take down help
- Visit with Santa at Creekside Hearth, Patio & BBQ - helping Mrs. Claus
If you are a local Almont High School Student and need Community Service Hours, The DDA will award 2 service hours for volunteering for 2 hours. You Must sign-up with DDA Director.
Register for This Year's Holly Day Light Parade
he DDA is looking for anyone interested in participating in the parade. There is no entry fee, however pre-registration is required. Whether by float, car, tractor, or foot – this is your opportunity to be creative and show your holiday spirit. You can acquire a parade entry packet from the DDA office at 817 N. Main Street or by email (email@example.com) or call 810-798-8125 to have one mailed to you. Click on the links below for more entry information and to download registration forms. All three (3) forms must be completed and returned to complete registration.
Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st - 3rd place in three categories: Business, Student Organization and Community Group.
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Keeping with the seasonal theme of the parade. Your entry should reflect whatever holiday you choose to celebrate at this time of year.
- Use of holiday lighting.
- Innovative use of materials.
