Thank You for a Successful 2017 Heritage Festival

A special Thank You goes out to Southeastern Heatmor for allowing the DDA to use their lot/property for parking as well as for the Vendors to set-up on.  The DDA greatly appreciates all your help, support and generosity in making community events enjoyable for family & friends. 

Almont Project Graduation 5K Run - Canceled


Due to a lack of participants, the DDA has been informed that the 5k Run/Walk/Color Run has been canceled for Saturday, September 16th.

Almont Heritage Festival
September 15 & 16, 2017

Makes plans to visit downtown Almont this Fall!  The Almont  Heritage Festival will kick off a weekend of activities celebrating our rural roots and character.  Events this year include some of your old favorites as well as new opportunities for you to enjoy.  Start your day off right with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Almont First Congregational Church.  Learn Yoga and relax at the Almont Community Park on the banks of the Clinton River.  

Classic cars will be rolling into town beginning at 9:00 am and will be on-site all day for the annual Almont Classic Car Show.  The main festival site will feature fun for the entire family.  The Annual "Chalk Around the Fountain" contest will be sponsored by the Almont American Legion where youth in grades 6-12 can compete for prizes.  Challenge yourself on the rock climbing wall or navigating an inflatable obstacle course - all helping to work up your appetite for some great eats prepared by our local restaurants.  Young and old can enjoy games, crafts, a petting farm, clown, face-painters which will offer thrills for all ages.
Take time to stroll down Main Street and visit the Almont Historical Museum.  Learn about some of the history of that has made Almont the unique community it is today by participating in a self-guided downtown historical walking tour.  

The evening entertainment is booked and promises to be a great time under the big tent!  Friday night features "The Bob Marshall  Band".  Step back in time and sing and swing along with your favorite tunes.  Saturday evening features, "Category 5" who will provide hours of pop rock music.

Calling all classic car enthusiasts!  This is a show you donít want to miss.  Join us in downtown Almont for a fun family day filled with prizes, entertainment, and activities throughout the community.  Pre-registration guarantees you discounted entry fees, a T-shirt, goody bag if youíre one of the first 60 to register.  Enjoy meeting up with old friends while making new ones in this quaint historic community.  Register early as space is limited!

Chalk Around the Fountain


The Almont American Legion Auxiliary is sponsoring their 7th & final  "Chalk Around the Fountain" art contest.  Students in grades 6-12 are invited to showcase their artistic talent by creating chalk drawings based on the chosen theme: "Honor Branches of the Military - must use a poppy" Students may work independently or in groups.

1st Place - $50
2nd Place - $25
3rd Place - $15
 This event will be held at the Almont Fountain Park, downtown Almont and begins at 11:00 am.  Judging will take place at 12:00.

FREE Basic Yoga Class for EveryBODY at Almont Community Park! Come together and create a space to explore and experience Yoga's many benefits for increased grace, strength and health. Certified yoga instructor, Dina Miramonti, will lead a FREE one-hour Basic Yoga Class guiding you through simple breathing technique and teaching you to explore Basic Yoga postures adopted to the needs of your body.
Have some fun enjoying yoga in the fresh air on the park lawn as you learn to safely challenge and take care of yourself and find a little peace of mind.  EveryBODY is Welcome and no prior Yoga experience is required! Bring your own mat and optional blanket.
