Almont Heritage Festival

Makes plans to visit downtown Almont this fall! The Almont Fall Heritage Festival will kick off a week of activities celebrating our rural roots and character. This year's event has been expanded to include more activities and events downtown including entertainment both Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. Friday night's band is, "Tommy and the Tom Tom's" and Saturday will feature a performance from the "Killer Bees." Both bands showcase talent with Almont connections. Back by popular demand will be the scarecrow decorating contest, "Almont's Got Talent" contest, Almont Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook Off, and beer and food concessions.
New events this year include the Almont PTA Fund Run, an exciting opportunity to promote fitness to our area youth while raisinig money for a good cause. The Kiddie Corner will be sure to provide hours of entertainment for children. Sponsored by the Almont Ash Sifters Auxiliary young and old can try to "Dunk a Fireman", enjoy games, crafts, and inflatables.
Take time to stroll down Main Street and visit the Almont Historical Museum. Learn about some of the history of that has made Almont the unique community it is today. Visit the local restaurants and shops and discover new treasures downtown. Stop by the window of local dentists Dr. Jay Vanderest and Dr. Lois Meek and challenge yourself to the Almont Baby Photo Contest. Recognize that friend or neighbor?
The Historic Mill and Brewhouse is sponsoring a Gypsy Faire. This event is sure to delight!
Hungry? Make sure to stop by the First Congreational Church for an old fashioned pancake breakfast. Food available at the Festival will range from a pig and corn roast to homemade tacos, nachos, hot and chili dogs, fries, and tasty snacks! Make sure to save room for apple pie, cider and donuts as well as other assorted baked goods.
The Almont Fall Heritage Festival will conclude the weekend of October 3 & 4th with the annual Country Heritage Tour. Travel in and around Almont and take in highlights of the area's finest craftsman, artists, farms and seasonal delights. Stroll through an orchard or garden and breathe the crisp fall air. Sip a glass of cider or a mug of coffee while you enjoy an off the beaten path adventure. |
