2016 Fall Clean Up A Success
The Almont Downtown Development Authority wishes to extend our deepest appreciation to the Youth on Main Street Volunteers for organizing their first Fall Clean-Up Day downtown. This dedicated group of local youth has embraced the concept of civic engagement and youth volunteerism to make a difference in their community. We would also like to acknowledge the generous sponsorship by Rozaís Pizza and Charlie Browns for generously providing a wonderful lunch and ice cream to feed our hungry volunteers. It is through collaborative partnerships such as these that make Downtown Almont a great place to be.
Our event this year saw participation from a number of different groups that truly appreciate and enjoy keeping our downtown community looking good. Volunteers included students from the High School, Middle School, Almont Band, National Honor Society, the Robotics Team, government students and wonderful, energetic parents. Significant improvements were visible as numerous passerís by commented on the wonderful work as well as how nice it was to see such great youth involvement in the community.
The Youth on Main Street (YOMS) program depends on the generosity of community sponsors as well as support by the DDA for funding their efforts. They are the faces of future Almont.
