In an effort to connect our employers with local talent, the Almont and Imlay City Downtown Development Authorities and the Imlay City SEED group hosted a local job fair. Linking job seekers with available jobs is a critical component of an improving local economy. The purpose of the job fair was to bring together Almont and Imlay City businesses who are actively looking to hire new talent withe individuals within the comunity looking for employment.
Over 79 individuals took advantage of meeting with twelve local employers. Numerous follow up interviews were scheduled and several employers anticipated making job offers within a week. The Michigan ThumbWorks office met with people and provided resume creation and review services as well as had an opportunity to discuss their additional job training and recruitment services.
