After having faithfully served the Village of Almont since 1914, the historic water tower no longer serves as a beacon to visitors downtown. After much anticipation, the new tower, located in the Almont Research and Industrial Park, is fully operational. This new 300,000 gallon tower began servicing the community in November. People are already noticing the positive increase in water pressure. Infrastructure improvements such as this will continue to make Almont an attractive place to live and do business in.
The old tower was removed by Iseler Demolition of Romeo. In a well choreographed event - the entire project was completed within a day. This event attracted many visitors to downtown. With the removal of the tower, this paves the way for the Downtown Development Authority’s plans to further expand parking lot improvements to the southwest corner of downtown. |
