Marketing Your Business Workshop

 

FLINT, MI -- “Marketing Your Business” workshop will be presented by The Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) at Kettering University in Flint on Thursday, May 16, 5:30-8:30pm.

 

This workshop is designed for business ventures that want to develop practical applications of marketing concepts to grow their small businesses. It covers basic marketing tools including market analysis and research, target marketing, assessing competitors, and key marketing implementation tools. For pre-start or early stage businesses, pre-requisite to this workshop is attending “Starting a Business” first and “Writing a Business Plan” second.  Information on those classes and other MI-SBTDC training is located at www.misbtdc.org.

 

Due to community sponsorship, there is no fee for this workshop or any of the 2013 Venture Start workshops offered by MI-SBTDC I-69 Trade Corridor regional office.  However, advance, separate registration for each individual attending is required and can be made online at:  https://www.misbtdc.net/workshop.aspx?ekey=60330037

 

MI-SBTDC is part of a national network of small business centers funded through a cooperative agreement with the U. S. Announcing No-Fee Business Workshops

 

FLINT, MI—The I-69 Trade Corridor Regional office of the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) located at Kettering University in Flint announced today that all “Venture Start” workshops scheduled and delivered by regional staff in Genesee, Lapeer, and St. Clair counties will be offered free of charge through 2013.

 

“Venture Start” business workshops are a series that provides introductory overview of critical considerations for startup and early stage entrepreneurs including Starting a Business, Writing a Business Plan, Marketing Your Business, Financial Management, and Business Legal Issues.  Upcoming regional workshops previously announced in the media with a modest fee are now available at no cost. 

 

MI-SBTDC is a statewide organization funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide no cost counseling, training, information, tools, and resources for new ventures, existing businesses, expanding businesses, and innovative technology ventures. 

 

“We’ve seen a surge in requests for business startup assistance, and these workshops are the best way to get a comprehensive set of business tools, information, and resources to the greatest number of people,” according to Regional Director Marsha Lyttle.  “With a sponsorship approach we can eliminate the course fee which might be a barrier to aspiring and new entrepreneurs.”

 

These workshops are available at various locations and times, and with varying fees at other sites around the state.  This no-fee policy applies only to the Venture Start courses in Genesee, Lapeer, and St. Clair counties. 

 

The upcoming no-fee courses, which can be searched online are:  Writing a Business Plan in Flint April 11; Starting a Business in Lapeer April 15; Writing a Business Plan in Lapeer April 15; Starting a Business in Port Huron April 18; Starting a Business in Flint April 25;  Financial Management in Port Huron April 25; and Marketing Your Business in Flint April 30.
